The Genie

Size 28x36 cm

pencil on acid free paper

Creation by my minds eye from the first sketch to the last pencil stroke.

I made some detail photos while I was drawing it from sketch to finished Art, as you can see below.

for the background I used a 6B whole graphite pencil.

The rest like the bodies and such or the details of the hair I used a "B" with my trusty FIXPENCIL by Caran d'Ache. I got it for many decades already as it has a metal casing that is sheer UN-destructible. It has been snowed, rained upon, stepped on and really it still seems like new. When I think about those new ones in plastic which get sometimes destroyed by simply sharpening them it is a real marvel indeed and very trusty for all occasions. It is great for real details even when very small.
Some more detail of the FIXPENCIL. I really love to work with it.
Below is also my trusty sharpener by GEDESS - SWISS MADE I got it since Art school as well. There is nothing better to sharpen those pencil with leads of 1.6 mm to 4 and beyond. I usually use the leads size 2mm. I can draw whole drawings with a "B" for light and dark parts like in the drawing I made recently "The Horse Whisperer". GEDESS sharpens a lead really so sharp that any tiny detail can be made without trouble like the hair and details to the eyes in such a small size.
I think I am going to make a colored one of it some day and also correcting the sitting body, as I think it got a bit too hunched into itself.

"Pure Joy"

Happy Birthday to Robert Downey Jr.

I painted this one on Robert Downey Jr.'s Birthday on April 4th, 2013. He had such a enjoyably laugh that I had to draw it, It was supposed to be in pencil but as usually suddenly my muse struck and wants something else when I made a first initial sketch and draft on an A4 Canson paper.  As the sketch itself got well and his face was recognizable I went on on the same paper to continue and as I really enjoy to work with the watercolor in those small tubes and specially the Tierra Sienna one for sketching as it is the same color as Sanguine. As I have a light hand for sketching and drawing it is easy for me to draw on the same paper as the paper itself got not marked by a heavy pencil stroke, so working into a watercolor was a go. and finally thought a blue background would go fine with it. I love to paint and draw muscles in general and albeit the T-shirt he wore was whole I shred it to show his defined muscles he acquired for the "Iron Man I" movie on as he was skinny but for the Superhero he had to build up to this healthy body. 48 years old now, and just gets all the time sexier and so handsome. I really love to draw him in any medium possible and techniques.
Size A4 on acid free Drawing paper by Canson, painted in watercolor with two colors.

Wind In The Hair an Acrylics Painting

Wind In The Hair

In a spur of the moment I painted this portrait in about four hours from the first sketch to the end in Acrylics on canvas. After I had the face painted, the rest came step by step in a spur of the moment like coloring and background, even the child's dress and color came  that way about. A surrealistic portrait in the end. I just let my muse flow in free will and what each moment told me to do. After I had the background more or less ready adding there and here something, my minds eye just saw the kept hair in a pony tail from the photo I had of the girl and saw it flowing lusciously in the wind, first it was just in one direction but suddenly it wanted to get blown around leaving the face free and I hope joyful looking. And looking at it until this point decided to add a dress instead of a t-shirt which was white to be this red dress. As the girl's face was more important to me to get more attention I didn't work to exhaustion on the background as she was the focus of all. And in the end I called it
